This side of our little “island,” as my friend JS put it, is an unexpected treat for this UESer. It has a looser vibe. Architecturally it is a different era.
Nice day for it, too, as the Brits might say.

Sidewalk eateries always used to feel so continental. For years, I craved an outdoor coffee, you know like they do in Paris.
Al fresco in Italy; en pleine l’air in France just sounds so special.
Then came the pandemic and street eats became a regular thing.

The first winter, I put up with low temperatures and dining with my gloves on. Once I discovered the heated food huts it was a huge relief.

Many once pokey little restaurants built outdoor seating that spoke of much fancier fare. Imaginations ran free as carpenters put together dining areas that outshone the original.

Outside was the place to be.
Won’t you join me on this short walk?

Not to brag but… but I covered 59 blocks!
